I felt the same.

In the end, I gave family pen and paper over Sunday dinner and said 'write your dinner menu for the week'. It transformed the situation

We now have four agreed weekly menu lists. We don't have to use them if we don't to, but they are there if inspiration fails.

Bbq racks of ribs and chicken , couple of bits of plain chicken for the fussy ones , jacket potatoes and mini corn on cob .. nice easy chuck it all in the oven and done
