My weekend dilemma... Help required please!

I have been asked to permit a gentleman to take me away for the weekend!

My dilemma is.... Where?

Where would you go. Money isn't an issue, and I'd like a memorable one!

TIA!

Paris! I love it so much.

Prague, Stockholm, Bruges, Barcelona, Antwerp, Venice, Oslo are also good for a quick break.

Only two places for me,1. Iceland to see the northern lights and also hit the hot pools. 2. Transylvania to stay in the ice hotel.

I second Iceland...somewhere cold with an ice tub.

Venice is lovely having lived there for a year would highly recommend it.

So far - Paris would be amazing, but is it rude to choose a European City break?

Hot tubs and chilling in Wales sounds equally brilliant.

Any other S/E UK (apart from Brighton & Canterbury) destinations you'd love to go to?

If he's paying get him to take you to Thorpe park for the weekend or Alton towers.

Edinburgh's good for a weekend if you're just staying in the UK.

Groupon do weekend breaks for cheap across Europe anyway. BA also have some holidays for £100-200 each (flights and hotels).

How well do you know him just in case he turns out to be boring you may need a back up plan!

Aside of the that ~ I would recommend Venice for a European city break.

"If he's paying get him to take you to Thorpe park for the weekend or Alton towers. "

That'd be fun, but closed during winter seasons. Alton Towers definitely the better of the two, but Thorpe Park close enough to London to head in for dinner.

I know him very well, he loves to research where to go, what the plan is and what to do; so I doubt boredom would ever kick in!

That's before the fun begins!

I live near to alton towers, took a lady from another swingers site there for the day a few years ago, was fun. Drayton Manor Park also not far.

Pre terrorism I would have said Paris as an obvious choice....now?

If Eoropean then Venice...get him to take you on a Gondola! Or Amsterdam...but do at least one way on the Ferry (if possible Hull-Rotterdam) because they are an experience in themselves....go club class of course!

Central

I've done usa east and west coast weekend trips - loads of places to choose. Australia really needs a week minimum.

Lisbon is less done and is one of my favourite capitals or cities.

Choose according to your interests and season is my advice. All of Europe is feasible as is much of the middle east and some of north Africa.

London and France

Paris:

Easy and quick from UK via Easyjet or preferably Eurostar:

Good hotels are not expensive;

For the portions of the day when you are clothed and not in bed; there is lots of culture, museums art galleries: ( Musee d'Orsay is brilliant)

Recommend you visit Montmartre: the area where Toulouse Lautrec, Picasso, Jean Paul Satre lived ; great cafes and restaurants

Venice is glorious but it'll be a bit parky right now with the risk of aqua alta (high water so you'd need wellies).

Rome.

There are so many to chose from? is it romantic you want or is it dirty weekend? Do you want lots to do in the day time?

We have just got back from Amsterdam lovely city, lots to do not just the red light district and smoking pot, we did a nice canal cruise and the ice bar, hieneken tour, lots of museums, and lots of road side coffee shops to watch the world go passed, they even provide blankets to'snuggle up in

I have been told that Brugge is very pretty place, quaint old buildings overlooking canals. It's on my to do list to visit for a special weekend away. Not too far away by train or car (not sure how far it would be from Kinksville mind) and there are plenty of hotels to choose from.

Maybe tell him you trust his judgement and let him surprise you?

Tell him with a wink that you have a passport
