It only means your message was opened. They may not have even read it.

Everyone sorts their inbox differently.

It could be that they read and delete messages they're not interested in, and leave ones that they are interested in as read. Or it could be that they read messages and mark unread the ones that they're interested in and then bulk delete the read. Or it could be that they forgot to reply. It all depends on the person, a read but not deleted message doesn't mean anything..

It can mean a few things.

If its sent to a couple one could be waiting form the other to read it. A woman could be takimg time to think about it or in my case it's cause I haven't bothered to empty my inbox.

Try not to concentrate on your sent box. Send your messages and forget about them then if you get a reply its nice.

Its true it is a very hard thing to get into because its very closed and peoples seem to have higher standards on here more than on normal dating sites

Go to social events

Get involved positively on forums

Me, if I read a message and am not interested straight away I delete, if I want to think it over I read it and leave it in my inbox but may delete later, or I mark it as unread, if I'm certain I'm interested I reply there and then.

Everyone works it differently though

No. If someone REPLIES to your message it means you are being considered.

We tend to leave them unread until we are both on together, that way the big yellow highlighting reminds us which ones we need to reply to.

(I say we, I normally leave it to Mrs ddc, cos I'm a wimp like that )

Just send messages to others and forget about them. Anything other than a reply should be taken to mean that they're not 100% into discussing a potential meet. In other words, assume 'no' until you hear otherwise.

It saves a lot of mind wrangling and allow you to get on with contacting other people who may be more suitable.

There are lots of reasons why someone may not have deleted or replied to a message. Let them deal with their lives, and be happy with yours whilst you're without them.

The advice above speaks volumes.

I fell into the trap of checking if read messages were deleted or still there. Then I realised it was a silly exercise so I now send a message then empty my sent box so I don't focus on what I can't control.

People can get into swinging.

It requires a few qualities though.

Patience. Tolerance. Understanding. Empathy. Effort. Hard work. Think about and consider any advice you're given.

That's a few for starters.

Hang around the lounge, get to see the people, recognise the humour, read the other "help me" threads.

Once you've loitered for a while drop a few comments in.

If you've loitered for long enough you'll recognise which threads you can join in with.

Take it all with a pinch of salt.

Don't get upset or angry, or if you do, step away from the keyboard and don't let the rest of us see it.
