Having the attention span of someone with no attention span I just saw a profile that made war and peace look like a newpapaer cartoon.

Can you overload your profile or do people like them that take all afternoon to read?

Catthorpe

Works as a filter here too, however, we do need and intend to trim it.

Yes, they can be too long but I would prefer that to a profile of a sentence or less. If I am going to consider having sex with someone, I want to know something about them.

I get bored with long profiles. I read a book if I want a good read. Thankfully not many men have overly long profiles,a couple of paragraphs is enough for me,if that. I don't want to read huge lists of what someone doesn't want or tolerate or loads of clichés.

I skim read to the parts I think are relevant to me,my brain picks out certain words for me,like fatties,or gang bangs.

Ours is probably too long, but we've broken it into segments so people can skip the parts that don't matter to them.

I keep looking at it with the intent of cutting it down, but I always think "it's better they know that up front, surely?"

Ive been told my profile is quite witty

.and I think its good that you can read and also write ... it does so help with the initial icebreaker of sending or replying to a message

Mine was too long a while back so I was getting told by others so trimmed it down to, hopefully, a manageable read.

My profile is pretty long, but a fun one to read and it gives a good insight what kind of guy I am and many pics too. I also mention haribos. Many have mention they like it and witty too

Didnt have a long one but it was a couple of paragraphs and i was proud of it aa it was in my opinion fairly decent. Deleted it this morning as fed up of not getting any veiws or replies so thought fuck it and deleted it all. Sorta given up on here so now its all about the forums.

May re do it later

Some are long but due to being interesting and someones witty don't seem it, others are long and tedious but its their profile and they can put what they like.

I just spout meaningless drivel

Past experience on here has shown that people who don't read profiles won't read them however long or short they are but as others have said, they act as a filter to show if they have or not. Many that don't are really just wasting their time messaging if they don't fit people's criteria so an extra minute or so reading it would avoid this. Some I've read are just ranty demands, others are just tedious. Very few make me giggle so if you can do that, you probably will stand out.

Better to be clear and concise in your profile but I'd rather something that's more than one line and tells you about the person and what they're looking for. See a lot of 'fill in later' one liners which tells you nothing.

Also helps if people read the profile as it could save everyone time x

Some may be too long, but if a profile gets my attention in the first paragraph, I will continue to read, so I suppose it actually depends what is in the profile and how interesting to us, as a couple, it would be.

Mine has never been what I would call long, it's very short now.

Seems to make no real difference to the amount of messages received or the comments that say well written profile.

I change mine regularly. I cut it down cos I think it's too long then end up adding to it again.

A well written profile is the best filter on fab. I can usually tell if the first line of a message if they haven't read my profile and if they couldn't be bothered to go to the effort of reading that I can't be bothered to go to the effort to read their message.

I'd rather have a long profile than a short one that says virtually nothing or one that's full of cliches

Same - if people can't be arsed then I don't want to meet them anyway.

I think this was pretty much asked last week too.

If you have meets without any words exchanged, it's probably fine to aim for a profile that says nothing. Otherwise, there's tons and tons of choice from all the members here, so explore and find the people who stand out for you.

'I saw your profile and liked the pics... though didn't read it/just read a couple of sentences, as that's my preferred maximum..' may not be the ideal opener to messages.

I only read the profile of it's someone I'm interested in, the profile comes as a secondary filter for me. If it's long I'll skim it and see if Iwant to read it, if iit's just sending me to sleep then I use it as a filter

I generally can't be arsed to write or read long profiles....unless they are interesting...but that is rare.

We look at the pictures first, before deciding whether to bother reading the profile.

If we're seriously interested in meeting with the person/people, we have no problem in spending a few minutes finding out more about them. We'd rather have a comprehensive, well written profile than a couple of badly phrased sentences, but then again, the latter acts as a useful filter.
