no matter

Just tried to open my front door to go to work and it's stuck ! I have had to call a locksmith . Just realised how dangerous this is as I have no way of getting out the front except through a window . The mechanism seems to be broken top bit is free bottom is not . Yikes . I would be really stuffed if there was a fire right now. .

. Bugger what a start to the day .

When we moved into our first flat in the UK we got stuck in our living room with no tools or phones or anything.

We ended up getting a long rope, tying a dog toy to the bottom, putting it out the window and knocking on our downstairs neighbors kitchen window for an hour. Eventually they came to investigate, tied a hammer to the rope and sent it back up to us.

We were eventually able to get ourselves out using the hammer. Good luck to you, at least you have a phone and everything and have contact with the outside world

I live in a Salvation Army Housing Association flat, and their building contractors are allegedly coming to put some new windows in shortly, the scaffolding has been up for about 5 months. I got burgled not long after moving in and it took them 6 weeks before they sent someone to fix ma door properly

I came to my bosses house one morning only to discover he was locked in his bedroom ! I had to climb over a 6 ft fence and get in through the dog flap !!! X

Used to fit double glazing, all houses having new windows should have a means of fire escape in them. The changing of a mechanism on a door can be dead easy or a proper pig of a job
