Second time i was there was travelling on a dual carriageay in the back of a pick-up somewherenear Chang Mai and the driver was more interested in watching porn on a portable DVD player than watching the traffic. That was genuinely terrifying. As was, in a totally different way, the 'bridge' over a 20metre ravine while we were trekking. It was 3 pieces of bamboo an the drop was about 50 foot!

"I've been to Thailand twice, both times trekking in the North of the country but starting and finishing in Bangkok. The first time we were there we had a day and night to kill before flights home, can't rememer where we travelled to but a group of went across Bangkok in 3 tuk-tuks. The drivers decided to race each other, it was quite good fun but incredibly reckless. Got back to London and that month's Bizarre magazine has an artcle about the people that clean up the bodies in Bangkok and how tuk-tuks lose control and slide under trucks killing everyone in them!
