London and France

Happens a lot; freind of mine left a classic car overwinter in his barn;

It was dead in spring;

Mice had nested in the dashboard and eaten all the wiring.

Brigadoon

I used to have mice living under the bonnet of my 4wd. One popped out near the windscreen as i was driving along and another when i parked at the shops. We found lots of hazelnuts and dried grass in the air filter cover!

Least it's your car and not your boiler cupboard That happened in my old flat where they got in under the decking, bastards gnawed a hole in a M&S insulated picnic bag and made it into a nest.

some cats will be frightened of rats . What you need is a decent terrier . And even then rats carry potentially harmful deseases . Be careful . Be very very careful

We started seeing them during dustmen strikes last year. We have two little dogs,one caught a mouse recently and the other is a Jack Russel,bred for catching rodents and rabbits

Havant

I brought a car once that had problems with central locking . turned out mice had chewed threw some pipes under the seats , got it repaired and never thought anything more.

Drove the car to Jersey few months later and the nice customs people asked if they could put their drugs dog in the car as its training (yeah right) this dog went ballistic running around the inside the car like a wall of death , turns out there was an old mice nest under the dash ,took them ages to find it and they didn't offer to help put the car back together

If you know anyone with ferrets...get them around. If rats smell ferrets they'll scarper.

The land of grey peas and bacon

We have always had dogs and we lived on a farm for many years and we used to have German wired haired pointers and it used to sit at the bottom of the drain pipes as the rat shot up, then it used to tap the drain pipe and the rat slid down and she caught it and broke its neck...Jack Russels are bloody good at catching rats....I hate rats and mice with a passion they freak me out.
