Is there really any point in proclaiming that you are genuine in a profile and does it really mean anything?

Only if you've met someone I've met

Not really, Its a bit like I'm a professional what ever that means,

But you can put anything on your profile "I have a 10' cock" "I can shag for hours" etc People make up all kinds of crap just to get a meet, If it's a load of bs the truth will come out in the end

Ask often I've heard single guys on here declaring that they can't get meets even though they're "genuine..."

There are quite a few words used regularly on here that mean little in their context, genuine is one, fake and fun are two more .

I also get fed up reading the tired old nonsense about how the "bad guys spoil it for the genuine guys"

Bugger need to rethink my opening gambit on my profile! I say I'm genuine and professional.

I guess whatever you write in your profile is largely disposable, subjective and open to interpretation. If someone says they have a 'good sense of humour' their version of humour may be the polar opposite to yours.

What did I mean when I said it?

Genuine : I am who I purport to be and I'm here to genuinely met people rather than pic collect, time waste or play games. If we agree to meet, I will turn up .. that sort of thing. It might not mean anything more than any other pixels on a screen but I'm declaring up front and it's up to the reader to decide if they believe it or hold any value in it or not. If they've interpreted it that way themselves of course.

Professional : my interpretation is that I'm a white collar worker rather than a blue collar one (you could argue it the other way around of course). For most people that makes no difference at all, but for those that like a builder type it tells them I'm not for them.

Just my take on it anyway

I think a 10 foot cock is pushing it a bit

Well that's fair enough as at least you have given some thought to those two descriptors, but I'm not sure that everybody does when including them in their profile.

A fake profile wouldn't declare they were fake so declaring you are genuine seems a bit redundant to us, we have to assume everyone is genuine until proved otherwise writing on a profile doesn't make it so

I sometimes read threads where guys complain that they don't get replies or meets even though they're "genuine", ...with the strong implication that it's all those fake phoney guys who do....

"Just checked and I haven't used genuine in my profile does that make me not genuine? "

Neither have I, largely because it's a pointless adjective.
