Who has made it through the first week of their New Years healthier lifestyle plan successfully ?

Who has fallen at the first hurdle ?

I have.

I even managed to go in my favourite little coffee shop and not have my favourite peanut butter and white chocolate cake.

For me, I have managed to stay away from sweets, choccy, crisps, bread, cakes and fizzy pop.

No meaningful exercise yet though

Myself and the two girls who work alongside me had our first office 'weigh in' yesterday and I am the heaviest I've been in about 10 years.

Hopefully the fact all 3 of us seem motivated to change will keep us in the game

Personal motivation plus a bit of egging on will be the ticket.

I want to shift about 2 stones this year if I can.

Well done you

I know hard it is to resist these things.

I've just been wandering round the supermarket muttering 'put it back' to myself too many times

I'm torn between goals. On the one hand I'm at my heaviest in about 6 years, however, my strength is at it's best. My PT thinks I can legitimately compete in amateur women strong competitions.

But I've also got a couple of 10k races this year. And the 2 require completely different training and diets.

Just where I need to be.

I was going to have a dry January. Unfortunately yesterday I had a drink and also got very wet. I'm still eating well no chocolate and excercising every day.

London

My (lame) excuse is I'm not back at work until Monday, so not "really" started. Monday had cappuccino and red velvet cake in my favourite coffee shop with my daughter to discuss her wedding plans.

I can think of absolutely no reason why I left home in my gym kit yesterday, stopped off to tint and wax my eyebrows, walked pass the gym to go into Sainsbury's for water, buy chocolate and lotto tickets instead then go home!

Nine months before my daughter gets married and I retire...MUST try harder!!!

Which one do you want to succeed in the most ?

I'd go for that one.

Maybe take part in both but with the mindset of 'going for gold' in one of them.

Alternatively, shelve one this year, concentrate on one and then move over to the next in 2017.

Nice that you are pushing yourself though

I set my aims lower - mine is to get an 'X' out of my clothes

I've been to two excercise classes this week and have refused all offers of cake biscuits chocolate bacon sarnies and big fat pasties at work and have had limited alcohol over Crimbo and NYE. ...I'm half a stone off already! Aiming for 3-4 stone by next Crimbo cos my choice of clothing was dire this year! Bring on the sunmertime and sexercise

Ridden to and from work 2 days so that;s around 90 miles. Did a park run NY days and an hours run during the week. Have eaten okay-ish, no skipped meals and no custard cream binges which are my big weaknesses. Did an all nighter clubbing last weekend and stayed relatively sober (6 pints over about 9hours). So yeah I'm doing okay.

Annoyingly I know have a cold so comfort eating a little today!

I've stuck to the diet and done some exercise every day. Unfortunately I had a few voddies last night but weigh in tomorrow so I will see what damage that's done. Fingers crossed.

But totally negated by the chocolate, butter and sugar that makes the rest of the cake.

made no new years resolutions other than to be more assertive at work with the lazy buggers than do as little as possible - as for food me and the daughter have been chatting about what we will give up for lent this year - and thinking about things with added sugar- real or artificial and wow there are a lot of things - no cereal - cordial - beans- tommy soup -
