Since we started participating in the forums we can't believe how many people are committing daily fabicide by posting or adding threads to posts that make us go WTF. Admittedly in some cases it's another form of filtering and we're glad to find these things out in the forums and not at an actual meet but surely they must realise they're shooting themselves in the foot (or cock mostly) and severely restricting their options for future meets.

Some people seem to forget the little green arrow or that some people, like me, have an amazing memory (along with taking private notes about people!) One guy a few years back asked why he was struggling and the wedding ring shown in his pics where bought up. He denied everything and insisted he was single. A few months later, he posted a thread about guys meeting his wife!

Always best to be honest as you never have to remember the truth unlike when you lie!

It's not really a preference, just seems to be the way things go atm. As you know it's harder arranging meets when more people have to be happy with the choices and since changing my profile to curious I'm sure that's limiting our options a tad.

And yes we have seen posts that have put us off even trying to arrange a meet with some folks but not going to name and shame...Pretty sure you have too.

Yes, I can say I've posted/chipped in to a conversation or two with the result of people not wanting to meet me based on my opinion.

I've even had complete strangers (some who don't meet single / black / short / fugly / poor / non-uniform-wearing / non-rugbly-playing / has-partner-who-plays / accommodates) say they wouldnt guys say they wouldnt meet me even though we've never communicated.

I quickly realised its become a game of "agreeing to get laid, or be true to yourself and take the risk".

Fabacide - I think it's essential to have the mix - it creates debate ..... My only warning would be "don't assume" too much ....from the status or questions.

My recent thread / Survey / single men in clubs / was to gather opinions without stating my own in the opening statement so there would be no bias.

Now people assume I don't like single men in clubs where I actually on the whole love it.

I'm pretty sure people have blocked me for something I've said in a thread.

If they've blocked me for having an opinion it's not something I'll lose any sleep over.

If I see a thread subject I feel strongly about I'll add my perspective, to agree or disagree.

I don't recall posting just to get a meet. If I have it's been a singularly unsuccessful strategy.

As someone else said, Fab forums represent a very small percentage of the membership.

I was bereft and thought I was going to die, thankfully I had friends who rallied round and I started to see light at the end of the tunnel. Overtime, my confidence came back and I got back on the bike and started posting again.

It was dark days....

It doesn't bother me if people have opinions that seem like they are "shooting themselves in the foot." I don't think very many people here post to get a meet. And I don't think that women meet guys who do nothing but agree with them.

But I personally also don't like that guys get painted with the "you're just agreeing because you want to fuck them" brush. As if the only opinion they can have is an adverse one in order to be true to themselves.

I also don't care if someone doesn't like what opinion I have. I like debating and discussing so disagreement is fun as long as it isn't purposefully insulting without having anything to contribute.

Some of my favorite people on the forums are people I disagree with on a regular basis. They likely don't feel the same, though.

There are various comments that shock me and make me think I can't believe you put that, but from all, not just single men.

I know I have said things in the past that others don't agree with, but just because we are all on this site doesn't mean we all think the same. We are all entitled to our own opinions and if someone can't get over that matter then that's their problem.

I never make notes on people for what they say in the forums and have never blocked anyone because of what they say. I guess I'm not easily offended and I am able to accept that others have different _iewpoints to me. Plus I just don't bother reading the posts which you can tell are going to receive a whole load of crap.

i like to think i have a hint of brain cell , i stopped school at 11 and went on to become a fully qualified vehicle mechanic, very good welder, steel fixer , reading wioring diagrams and rebar diagrams is pretty difficult things to learn, doing tattoos ( self taught ) and i like to read and learn new things things i dnt already know , like how water in deep space both freezes and boils at the same time and how water without gravity rolls into a sphere, the moon controls the tides life needs light aswell as water , you need 3 eliments to create fire , a gun can actually be fired in space because of the oxygen held in the gun powder , not 1 person can ever claim to be the best at english as it changes to much , obviously have to good at mathmatics to be a mechanic , i think iv done pretty well for not going to school and spending my early teens being a little twat

People will always have their own opinion on what gets posted and by who

What's the point in agreeing with somebody else's opinion if your just trying to get to meet them, you will have nothing in common when you do.

I always try to make my own mind up about people after trying to get to know them a bit, your own opinion/ personality is what makes you unique from everybody else and that's the bit that will connect with another person and help them decide weather to risk meeting up or not

i like to think i have a hint of brain cell , i stopped school at 11 and went on to become a fully qualified vehicle mechanic, very good welder, steel fixer , reading wioring diagrams and rebar diagrams is pretty difficult things to learn, doing tattoos ( self taught ) and i like to read and learn new things things i dnt already know , like how water in deep space both freezes and boils at the same time and how water without gravity rolls into a sphere, the moon controls the tides life needs light aswell as water , you need 3 eliments to create fire , a gun can actually be fired in space because of the oxygen held in the gun powder , not 1 person can ever claim to be the best at english as it changes to much , obviously have to good at mathmatics to be a mechanic , i think iv done pretty well for not going to school and spending my early teens being a little twat

What I find weird is how some think one post of opposing _iew is enough to reverse an opinion of someone, with multiple prior posts of favourable _iew.

According to stats provided by the site, only about 1% of users actually visit the forums, so I don't think it would worry people too much.

I've been known to get into spats on here, does it worry me? Nope... checking our veries will give a better picture of what we are like, so getting blacklisted by one or two people on here isn't going to give me sleepless nights lol!

forumites form a small elite group who've been there and done that ,they form all small proportion of the overall membership of this place and many don't care what others think but yes you are right many don't think about their opinion being seen by potential meets

I can understand that there are many for who the net is their only outlet and they are never going to be in a position to meet but even then. like any situation on here, being honest and upfront is more likely to get them what they want (phone, text chat or whatever).

Being open about who you are, what you want and your availability is surely more likely to bring you the results you desire rather than being vague, dishonest or pandering to what others want in the hope they will sway to what you actually want.

yeah, you can't help memory....notes you have to out of your way to make though, and they go stale, they don't keep up with peoples evolving and changing _iews opinions and standing on certain things, they don't evolve with the person that the notes have been made about.
