foodies -kitchen gadgets

So im sure we've got some foodies in here.

Im curious what you've all found to be useful things for a kitchen.

Also has anyone found any particularly good knives.

Latley ive been using a ceramic one cheapish and no hassle of sharpening etc but obviously they are fragile and limited life with no ability to sharpen them easily.

Much better than similarly priced (13 quid tkmax) steel knives which are crap.

I am a chef,japanese knives are the best by far but you will need deep pockets,go to a catering suppliers they will sort out a few knives,
