It isn't their fault or choosing to have to live in a communist-powered totalitarian dictatorship. It's a structure where everything at the top hinges upon displays of power, and where anyone who is even suspected of stepping out of line is executed - often horribly. Yes, it's frightening, but power-posturing is an essential part of the North's culture - the answer can only come through very careful diplomacy. The Koreans themselves are lovely people at heart - bombing them because of their barely-controlled dictatorship isn't the answer... | |||
