Just listening to Jeremy Vine on radio2 a surgeon has restored the sight of a lady who was totally blind.

What a lovely story!

Restoring sight to the bind has surely got to rank up their with the most incredibly worthwhile human achievements of all time......

Even cataract surgery is amazing. Where once bottle end glasses were needs after lens removal. Then contact lenses. Then open surgery with guesstimating for lens power. And now keyhole surgery with multi focal lenses needing no stitches and not just restoration but improvement in sight is the unreported advance of the last 20 years.

To restore someones sight or hearing is so utterly life changing for that person. You could feel the joy from the audio recording of her voice when she first could see a clock.

Heartwarming stuff!
