Somewhere in between.

I won't make stuff up or flatter people when I don't mean it but if by 'speaking your mind' you can end up hurting someone when you don't need to (eg 'no thanks - I think you're a horrible person' if you pick an extreme) then I'll try and choose a more tactful way of saying it..

But nah, I won't give undue praise or flattery to try and get in someone's pants
