Strong female characters

Having seen Star Wars ( NO SPOILERS HERE) again I am still struck by the character Rey.

Without giving spoilers, I think she's an incredibly strong female character. It seems Hollywood is catching up and learning that a well written, strong and powerful woman can sell movies just as much as a muscular, gun toting man.

I can't wait for it to be so common place that no one even questions the gender of the character, just how well written they are.

Who's your favourite female character and why.

st andrews

So many to choose. When I was a teenager the only strong female role model on TV was Xena. Then Buffy came along and it opened up everything. Here was someone that I could relate to, who had some of the same problems and issues that girls my age had.

So many have come after, but Buffy was where it started, so I think I have to choose her

I've never been one for chick flicks, my early 90's favourite film females were Sarah Connor in terminator 2, I liked tank girl, liked the girls in the craft.
