When out Shopping etc if a Stranger looks at you and smiles, I picked my Daughter up last Night and a Lady looked at me and smiled so I said Hi, my Daughter asked who it was and I said I didn't know I was being polite, she said I was strange

Lol - have been known to talk to people in the supermarket - I must be the odd one.

My daughter (6) has a habit of saying to pretty ladies that they are pretty.

I always smile and say hi or good morning etc. around the village, usually because everyone knows everyone...it can take an hour just to get to the shops and back because everyone stops for a chat!

Yes I do, I'll smile or make a funny comment to some one in the supermarket and the like.

If you try it in London you get avoided like a nutter of some sort.

I love doing that... especially on the tube when they're all sat there with faces tripping them. There's nothing more entertaining than having a particularly loud conversation about tube faces while they're all sat there!

It appeals to my childish side. You'd think they never had anything going on in their lives... although I think if I had to travel on the tube every day I'd perhaps see their point.

Always smile and say hi and people often stop and chat to me and tell me everything about themselves.#

Think i hear their entire life stories and mates will often say,"whose that" ? and i say dont know but it was nice chatting.

The best laugh i had was on a bus with a guy who had parkinsons real bad but he was real chipper.

He was on about trying to paint his walls at home and ended up with what looked like an abstract painting.

He had the whole bus laughing.

Nowaday I always smile at people and say hi, but I live in a small town and they do it too. When I first got back here after living in Hemel I kept wondering why they were saying hi to me. I thought they were weird lol Took a bit of getting used to general friendliness but now I just do it without thinking about it.

For some reason, Im more inclined to speak to people in the morning - as in "morning" - and everyone always says "morning" back!
