Blackpool

Got 3 bug birthdays in 2 years, my 40th, OH 50th and lad's 16th.

OH has mentioned a few times about going to Oz. Especially to see the wild budgies.

Ok I know it's a swinging site and this has nothing to do with it sorry!

Just wondered if anyone had any tips as never been before. Never flew more than a few hours neither!

TIA xx

Been twice and travelled top..bottom middle and the east coast. It is fantastic... The outback beautiful. It feels a new country...apart from abo culture...it is not a place rich in that way...but the huge spaces...desert...coasts...open sky are breath taking. Food is good...the cities OK if not historical...and it is made easy to travel about...esp by bus which is cheap if time consuming because of distance s being so huge. Love the country...but love old blighty more.

Central

I was there last year, and have been several times.

I now break up my trips, so that I don't complete the whole flying in one journey. I'll take a break somewhere in the middle for a day or two. Even for just a night in a hotel room, after being shut inside a plane, a bed is a luxury - whether flying economy upto first class.

Plan a few cities or areas, if possible, once in Australia. Uluru, the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney - for example. And think about a short trip over to New Zealand too, as it's close and just 3 hours or so.

Prices fluctuate a bit and slightly off peak can mean it's quieter.

Expect jet lag to affect you for a few days, so don't insist on cramming stuff in for the first couple.
