You know the rest.

I'm sick of being angry and hurt so I'm gonna try fix it (again).. For good this time. I know some counseling would help but I'm not open to it yet so here goes trying some things out to make me a little less "woe is me".

Anyone else trying the same?

Haha I'm already very selfish and I'm not around negative people which is great; just some healing wounds i got to deal with and past which i haven't resolved (nor know how to).

Having contact with less fortunate people can put some perspective on life - for me over xmas I met a new born with serious health issues and at the other end Alzheimers - my life aint so bad in comparison - sometimes you need to look down rather than up - good luck

I'm not a woe is me person. I've had why me times and times I wish I didn't wake up,but I don't feel sorry for myself. I think about people with much worse lives than me. I'm fed, warm, sleep under a roof and have a phone to stay in contact with the world. I have family who don't argue or ignore each other over trivial arguments. I consider myself fortunate. Sometimes I feel a bit desperate and have to ground myself.

Yeah most of the time i am that person. I'm very very lucky in life i know that and I'm quite shocked myself how one incident this year has left me feeling broken after I've gone through much much more. Onwards and upwards....need my mojo back x

I always take selfies from above and can understand why taller guys think I'm hotter than what shorter guys do. They never see my double chin

I've had a not so great past but it helps me to focus on the future and the present. What do I want in the future that I can work towards now. At the moment it's money (so I'm saving) and moving back to England. Just take what lessons can be learnt and use them to help move on.

I didn't read all of this thread, just the OP, so sorry if I'm repeating stuff

Yes me. Been reading a book called the power of now because I'm sick of lettingthe past and wwhat might happen in the future determine my mood and mindset. It's heavy reading but has really helped me put things in perspective.

I've read that book too a few years ago. Good book : ) It's very Zen/Martial Arts, being here right now. It can help as a technique to chill

Central

It's good for us to be leaning towards positivity/optimism, for our health and wellbeing and I can find it a challenge too.

But I'm very fortunate, so remain aware of all that I have, as well as what I can do to influence things. Great benefits can come from less positive outcomes, when I've had to grow and deal with things or else flounder and remain stuck. I don't like repeating mistakes but don't avoid the possibilities, just relax and learn what I can.

I'm often trying to go too quickly with things and so I take my time. When I don't follow my speed it often comes back to kick me, as a reminder. Slow is ok. Less can be an awful lot more in the long run.
