yes heaps of times , its only twenty odd miles from me .

Its a fantastic walk there are lots of tracks up . all of varying difficulty , some easier than others .

its well worth a visit . but bring wet weather clothing. It can be sunny down in Llanberris and rainy on top of the mountain .. decent walking boots too are a must x

yes I have a couple of times and it's nothing special. There's a road and a railway up it and its busy...if you have to do it find a non standard way up. Scafell Pike is miles and miles better even Ben Nevis pathway is better...plenty of better walks to do in Wales.

Depending on the route you take, or even by train !

It's a wonderful walk

Make sure you're not wearing pixie boots or flip flips though, as I've seen some people do

And be prepared for any changes in the weather too

It takes five to six hours to climb and seven to ten miles depending on which path

There are various routes, some much harder than others. The pyg path or miners track are probably easiest. Cryb Goch is a bit of a scramble and more challenging I wouldn't recommend doing it alone.

Ive been up and down Snowdon many times since I was 3yrs old. Its a great walk but you need good boots and waterproofs as someone has already said the weather is unpredictable. Have fun x

The Crib is for more experienced walkers , best left to experts . or my mates from Ogwen Mountin rescue may need to be called for , they come armed with jelly babies. Then best mountain walking food ever

I did the 3 peaks challenge 18mths or so back. Found Snowdon the hardest but that might have been because I was just knackered and sleep deprived by then.

Would like to go back and give it a go again without negotiating the others first.

Miner's/Pyg track from Pen-y-pass is shortest as it starts higher up though the car park there fills up early. Llanberis path is most straightforward and follows the route of the train. Lots of parking options at the base. I've done a couple of the others which are much quieter with some minor scrambly bits. As another poster says, don't get caught out by fine weather at bottom as it can be very bad at top. The cafe at the top opens again in Spring.

My nutty ex made me run up Snowdon and Pen Y Fan! My main recollection of Snowdon was that we went through every possible variant of weather on the way up! It was gorgeous though.

I think you and pooch would make an excellent guide for our evie

Think of it as a journey and not a destination , the weather could force a retreat and often will be your greatest challenge

It is great to be guided , but I always like those I guide to be actively engaged in the route choice and navigation

If you want to be traditional a pint of tea at Petes eats just up the road will set you up for the challenge

Did anyone mention waterproofs lol

And NO don't do crib goch .... yet xx

We started at Wasdale Head which we were told was slightly easier. I had to stop because of the rocks, I was scared I'd break my ankle clamouring over them. My legs were killing too. Im just too unfit for it. I would like to do it though.

I love Snowdon I have climbed all the paths, all times of the year day and night 28 times so far, also 350 other Mountains and taking others up abd down safely is the most enjoyable thing.

Much more fun than joining the queues at the top of Snowdon.

People walk up Snowdon because its the highest. It's popular and everybody should do it, once. I've done three or four routes.

Nicer walk / scrambles in snowdonia are Trefin and the glyders.

Lots of times .There are several different paths to climb. Some easier than others. Hope you get a clear day for your climb .Nothing worse than getting all that way and not seeing anything at the top.

many years ago, myself and others on a mountain leaders course had to aid and assist down some trainer and shorts clad Californians from the top of Nevis..

we had had to rope up on the knife edge and asked them why they didn't turn back when they hit the snow line, answer along the lines of 'we have bigger hills in California'..

Aye, it was bloody cold up there. A mountain rescue helicopter nearly blew us off the hillside whilst coming to somebody else's rescue. Ma ex thought one of the crew was waving at her instead of understanding that he meant to take cover behind the nearest large boulder

We did the Rangers Path Saturday and it was hard but great, heavy snow made it take longer and hurt the legs more but worth it. Cader Idris yesterday and a good weekend had
