If the gales are too strong they close the QEII bridge and traffic out of London is terrible

We were renting a cottage in Inverness but trees fell from all the wind and blocked the access path. We had to wait for the forestry guys to come and clear it all. Mud and branches everywhere.

The wind and rain up in northern Scotland has been very strong.

They talk shit a lot of the time. We were on a yellow warning. It was a bit windy this morning but seriously, this naming storms thing is just rubbish.

.

Well I don't think giving them a name alters there impact, however I think what there trying to do is give people some distinction between the 990mb storm three days before the 950mb storm.

Weather is a very very complicated science (especially in this part of the world)

Okay so I was being flippant cause it really wasn't bad between Edinburgh and Dundee today but I'm looking at video footage of Ballater and they're totally flooded.

I agree with you about the naming of the storms. It's just another Americanism that we don't need here. Plus English names like storm Desmond just sounds naff imo.
