Ladies (and gents) I need to talk about eyebrows.

I (stupidly) plucked mine years ago and they've been too thin. So now that I have my massive fringe, I decided to grow them back. I currently walk along the street hoping the wind is behind me.

The problem is that one is growing way quicker than the other. Does anyone have any experience of cultivating eyebrows? How long is it gonna take?

And... when you've finished thinking about that... what exactly makes a good set of eyebrows?

Do you shape/tint them? Draw them in? Have them tattooed on?

Spill your beans please?

I keep mine tidy with tweezers. You could let them grow in, then go get them waxed and just maintain with tweezers

"I keep mine tidy with tweezers. You could let them grow in, then go get them waxed and just maintain with tweezers "

Yeah that's my plan... my hairdresser has a great lady at her salon so I'm gonna go see her but I don't know whether to get them tinted while I'm there. I'm not really all that up for high maintenance but thought maybe I'd do my lashes and eyebrow tint. No idea how often I'd need to keep that up though...

I get mine done twice a year and they tint them to fill in the 'blanks' and I maintain with tweezers in between, once the shape is there I just keep it going

Years of over plucking meant that they would grow. I used Jamaican black castor oil on them for months trying to get them to grow then I had them tattoo'd on twice. Now they've faded again I bought a palette from one of the demonstrators when I was at the clothes show, it's a brush and different powder pallet with stencils so I just place them over my eyebrows and fill them in with the powder.

I don't wear make-up though so I think I'm gonna stick with growing them rather than using powder. I think they'd just stick out like a sore thumb on me.

I hardly wear make up, always have to put my brows on though cos they've faded so much. Takes seconds with the stencil.

My beauty therapist advises to try and think of them in terms of being siblings rather than twins?

Clippers are the answer. Wait until the shortest side is long enough to clip and then do both to the same length.

Maybe get your hair dresser to do them for you.

I have mine 'tattooed' on. Semi permanent make up. Changed my life! Used to draw them on every day as they're quite sparse and very fair.

I also tint when I can be bothered, and use tweezers to keep them tidy. I don't have to pluck often as they are so nicely defined with the semi permanent make up that the strays don't really show.

I have mine waxed about every six weeks, don't do anything to them innetween as I can't see to do them.

My mum has hers tinted as they've gone sparse as she's gotten older but they look natural.

Mine are quite dark anyway

I have never had anything done to my eyebrows, mainly because of my fear of tweezers or waxing. Luckily for me they have natural shape and are ok.

They are blonde though so I use an eyebrow make up set to colour them in. I use browns because this compliments my colouring.

However if I'm going out and fancy a little colour I use different colours on them, reds, purples, mainly or I'll stick pearls or diamanté face jewels above them.

Mine are naturally dark and a good shape so I just keep them tidy with tweezers. I use a pencil to neaten them up though as there a bit sparse towards the ends. I'm a bit obsessed with eyebrows, when they don't quite look right they ruin someone's face! I had a massive fringe in my teens so avoided the point when everyone else was over plucking theirs and I'm really grateful for that

A soft brushing of black or brown eye shadow will darken them. Stupiidly i got minecdone on hols..a bloke did them and used a lawnmower over them. Ifvsome are too long brush the brows upwards and snip the long ones individually.

This sounds like a good idea.

Once they are grown back you can shape them however you want and then decide if you need any filling in.

I do my own as I've never found anyone to do them as I like. My last waxing experience put me off for life... The tidy up resulted in such little hair I had to buy an eyebrow pencil to draw them in until they grew back

I've always liked just natural eyebrows on people. I don't find plucked eyebrows very attractive personally, I always think it looks a bit strange. Mind you, I have a weakness for totally shaved and drawn/tattooed back on.

LONDON (se)

I like my brows natural looking so I just tidy with tweezing. Although I have recently made them thiner. I shade them darker when I'm wearing more make up as they look odd otherwise. Remember though your eyes are sisters not twins so don't stress if they are not perfectly matched. I have one brow that is more arched than the other but it doesn't really notice.

I've always plucked mine/got them waxed occasionally but have only ever tidied up their natural shape rather than trying to do anything different with them. My left one is naturally far nicer than the right but I like a bit of non-symmetry. Luckily a fringe and my glasses hide them most of the time and my hairdresser's is also my beauticians so if I go for a fringe trim and they become noticeable I just get them tidied.
