Worst companies out there

Prompted by the O2 post...

What are the worst companies you have dealt with?

I've currently been arguing with Very over a £40 top that they delivered to the wrong address through failure to update my address. I paid through Paypal so hopefully I will get my money back.

But seriously, their customer service is awful, I feel like banging my head against a wall. I have been called a liar and all they do is ignore what I have told them and repeat the same thing which is along the lines of 'Tough shit you're not getting your money back'

It's frustrated me to the point I don't care about the money but judging by their Facebook post their reputation is poor and getting worse.

My pension company. And my own company's HR department. Fucking nightmare for months over trying to change to a different supplier. It was suggested I write off the thousands I pay in if I'm not happy to continue using them, and start anew with a different supplier. Ridiculous.

Spoke to 11 people in four different countries trying to get my problem sorted and resorted to writing a letter which has not been replied to.

I get the impression Vodafone think they are too massive to care.

My old motorbike insurance company mce. Called to say I passed my test and wanted to add my new bike. Got passed to 4 different people in different departments, cold transferred through every time and had to explain it all 4 times. Andy then when I finally got to someone who could do it they had to go away an find things out! It's a simple give details about new bike, monthly payment doubles, new docs in post. Sill fully comp, still kept in garage and used at 1 place of work etc.

Absolute pain in the arse. Moved to Bennetts when it came to renewing and service so much better.

Uber

Surge pricing

Not allowing guide dogs in their cars and leaving people stranded.

Not picking up mobility impaired people.

I have to deal with uber complaints and the list is endless.

18,000 complaints in the last six months.

Uber are mentioned in over 600 crime reports in the last three months.

Banned in many cities but Cameron's best friend is on the uber board so don't expect a ban here soon.

My daughter has had horrific problems with EE too. Countless hours spent on the phone only to find a worse mess each following month. Eventually they agreed to end her contract early and refund everything they'd taken out of her bank.

Virgin media

They sent letter after letter saying I owed them money, And with every letter the bill kept going up, I finally started talking to them and it turned out they had been taking money out of my account for over 6 months after I had cancelled, I got my money back that I didn't even know I had lost

Also I had a contract with Vodafone which was running out, The week before they phoned me giving me a new contract and said the old one would end at the end of the month, I received a letter the following month saying I owed them money, When I phoned them to explain the Man(idiot) on the other end said I had to write a letter confirming that I was leaving my contract even though it had run it's 24 month contract and they would take me to court for the money, I put the phone down and redialed

the next person said don't worry I will sort it out for you

Addison Lee are the same, drivers are trapped in to a contract and poverty

I've had a really bad experience with an Uber driver, locked 4 of us in the car (me and 3 women) and tried to negotiate an off meter price. But as a punter they are incredibly cheap. I've used Uber to come back to North Hertfordshire for less than £60 (probably best part of an hour drive), I've paid £20 in aa black cab from Camden to Kings X. I know black cabs aren't the best value for money (no disrespect Mr Polk!) but that is a huge difference and does make you wonder how Uber drives make a living

I've had only good experiences with EE, I must have been lucky to get through to the only decent person there by sounds of it.

Northern Rail nightmare, advance tickets ordered and all the machines at the station to collect them at were down. Went to the desk and they expected me to buy the tickets again at full whack! I just got on the train and showed the conductor the invoice on my phone in the end.

Same thing happened at a TransPennine station and they were bloody brilliant, printed me a waver.

Some sexy bums on this thread by the way, (not my own not a narcissist) lol

As QOT said above uber drivers can't make a living. They have to pay up to 35% to uber so many are on less than £5 an hour. I would feel very uncomfortable using a company that basically pay slave wages.

Sweatshop. Rang there Hatfield store and asked if they had the running shoes I wanted in stock, confirmed that they matched the online price (£70, when the RRP is £115). Went to the store and they were the RRP, assistant said that he hadn't really listened to what I asked him and refused to price match. Head Office offered me £10 compensation which I refused as felt it was insulting for the time I'd wasted and then got in to a bizare and protracted email argument where they contradicted themselves repeatedly while trying to convince me to take the voucher.

The customer service is to any phone shop is rubbish, they're cunts. All they want is you to buy from them, once you buy from them they'll treat you like shit, At the start of this month i spent 380 euros in carphone warehouse and meteor, and a few days later i went into both of the shops to ask for help on the new phones i got, they told me crap i could have easily figured out by myself. Rubbish from the 80s was more use than the crap they told me. Now because of them im very skeptical of what shops i get my phones from .

BT are terrible, we had SO many problems when we moved into our new build flat with fibre to the home (FTTH), it took FIVE MONTHS to get the internet working! They would say we needed copper, then they would try and install copper, then tell us that we couldn't have copper because we needed FTTH, then you would ask for FTTH and they would say we couldn't have it and needed copper and round and round and round it would go!

Sky customer service is shit! I know because I worked for them after uni. I worked for a agency who sent me to KGB who subcontract for Sky. KGB also own 118 118, and ran at least some of the call centres for that swine flu vaccinations 6 years ago. The managers were shit, so were the staff, turnover through the roof with very little training. People would blatently lie to customers and promise them the impossible, sky would write to people offering them special offers, that were actually impossible to give them on the computer. People were obviously only there for the money, so half the people would beg for extra hours, and the other half would be trying to book time off well in advance so they could have a life. Instead of putting these 2 groups together, both groups were denied. I requested my graduation day off, well in advance and was denied. So just phoned in sick. Another guy requested his Wedding day off and was denied! So of course he mysteriously was ill that day too!
