near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack!

The BDO World Championship from the Lakeside starts this Saturday! I will be cheering on our local lad Scott Mitchell of course, but I`m really pleased to see Ted "The Count" Hankey returning as it must mean he is getting over the after effects of the stroke he suffered a few years ago whilst playing for the PDC. Even if it is a stepping stone for Ted to eventually return to the PDC it is a welcome appearance!

The ladies? Either Laura Aston again or Deeta Hedman! Anyone else have any thoughts?

Oh, either Peter Wright or Phil Taylor for the PDC Champion!

Food is indifferent! Half a roast chicken was very dry. Cottage pie was much better!

Probably the dullest final I`ve seen on my visit - Tony O` Shea vs Scott Waite which Waite won easily. Didn`t like the way how the majority of players came in, including Wolfie in a very smart suit and bow tie, and posed with fans for pictures whilst Scott Waite sneaked in and disappeared before anyone spotted him. Was good to see Richie George (Bobby George`s boy) playing and looking as black as thunder every time he had a bad throw and to hear the "yes!" as whoever was throwing got two darts in the treble 20!

Been to the home of darts several times, who remembers Paul Williams and his possy... the Lancashire hot pots!

Having known Paul and Joanne for many years, it's a shame he isn't playing like he did in 2005, lakeside needs people like him playing.

BDO is the real deal, anything with Phil (the cock) Taylor in isn't worth watching.

Couple of favourites from my visit - three blokes wearing plain white t shirts with Tesco Value Fancy Dress logos and two ladies wearing Superwoman outfits who had folded their "Let`s Play Darts/180 cards so they read "Let`s Play"! Hmmmm! I bet they would have as well!

The BDO is pretty much the sky bet league one whereas the PDC is the champions league

This is very true but at least the second division boys get a get of airtime too as well as the Premier boys so good all round!

not for much longer.... rumour is that this may be the last shown on the BBC due to the sports cuts.....

i don't see the point of the two rival organisations... one is thriving and people are making a really good living... the other is really struggling....

just the standard of darts difference is noticeable

isn't it time they came back together
