"Had a crafty play earlier and I must say it's left me with a thumbing headache. I've taken some headache tablets but no joy. This happens occasionally but lately it's happened everytime. Anyone else had this and what did you do? " If you've had something paracetamol based you can take something Ibuprofen based too (or vice versa). To be fair I wouldn't necessarily take medical advice from a stranger on a forum but I have two children and when they've had fevers I've been assured by docs and nurses that the two groups are completely seperate and safe to take. Hope it helps, at least you had something to show for your headache. I hope it goes soon

"Thanks for the advice I've sent my fella to Boots to get me some. Having said that I don't drink much today all I've had is 2 cups of tea so maybe that's the cause. But great advice, thanks xxxx" You're welcome I'm the same, don't drink an awful lot either, usually a glass of juice with my lunch and one with dinner and that's it - so I really notice it if I've been out running etc - upsets the fluid balance, cue headache.. Hope the Paramol helps xx

Hope the Paramol helps xx" Paramol is great - I had root canal and was dreading the injection wearing off but it really helped. I was also going to suggest de-hydration too, it's a conscious effort to drink enough far enough ahead of a run even in winter. But if you don't. Ouch afterwards. If the advice was good enough for my kids I was confident it was good to 'dispense' (gettit) but very grateful for your post.

"As a pharmacist in training I can vouch for the paracetamol/ibuprofen combi! Personally if paracetamol's not working I'd nip down to your nearest chemist and ask for some Paramol - great for short term relief of any aches/pains that paracetamol isn't helping. I say short term because it's got dihydrocodeine in it, which as well as being addictive in the long term, will also bung your guts up. I take it for no more than 2 or 3 days at a time if I get bad period cramps etc. " Just remember Paramol is paracetamol based so if already taken paracetamol you won't be able to take Paramol immediately.

"That's great thanks for the information I must admit I can be a bit of a hypo at times and was thinking I'd burst a blood vessel in my brain. Silly me. " You're welcome. I asked my GP about it a few years ago. Lucky for me it only happened a few times.
