Hello and bore da Fabbers, Friends and Forumites.

Happy winter solstice. This is a special time for us Celtic folks. The end of long dark night and the sun making a jolly longer appearance.

So longer day time means a return to sunset walks for pooch and I .

So chums our question today is .

You have 3 minutes more sunlight on Wednesday, what will you do with that massive amount of time?

Traditionally it does fall on the 21St however it is always the shortest day and for the same reason we have leap years that means some years it falls on the 22nd, this is one of them years.

Happy Solstice and Yuletide!

From my home, on this day only, the Sun is completely hidden behind the mountain - tomorrow the new year will come, and the Sun begins his journey back to Spring and Summer.

I always feel it so profoundly - my whole body feels new warmth and energy flow though it - I can feel it already!

It depends how far north you live, but by the 30th your gaining 1 minute a day! Whooohoo

Which is why it's called Solstice. Whilst ancient humankind was pretty astronomically savvy, they didn't have the technology to measure things with the degree of precision we have today. Thus, to them, it seemed that the sun stayed at the same height at midday, for a week or so.

In recognition of this, whilst I don't celebrate christmas, I have no problem with a week or more of pagan feasting and indulgence
