I am planning to stay in bed for as long as physically possible today - anybody else have enormous pans?

I've got loads of work to do because I work for myself so I don't get holiday at Christmas. However I seem to be coming down with flu, so I'm mostly lying on the sofa aching right now.

I'm on holiday (I use the terms loosely) and have loads to do plus my youngest is really ill so I've got my nurse head on as well. Add to that I have post-grad assignments due in early January it's clear I won't be getting much R&R before returning to work. On the upside, despite all the stuff I have to do at home, I'm physically AWAY from the grindstone for two weeks and that's always a bonus!

good luck on the reading, really tough time of the year to be putting essays in, especially with that many balls in the air. 5000 words is not easy to write at the best of times - get some fresh lemons and honey

Vics first defence nasal spray seems to work brilliantly for me whenever I feel symptoms coming on, it's a bit expensive but I think it's worth it, or at least it will lessen the symptoms

It's not much fun to take unfortunately

If I step out of bed though, I could easily get a cold and whinge about it, so this is my enormous favour to the world.

+ My pillow is digging into my neck - it's not all feather duvets and mattress toppers you know.

Every weeks a holiday when you're self employed and not addicted to consumerism.

I will be out on my new toy mostly this Christmas as she's just had a new clutch fitted.

Self employed, so working until Christmas eve, then taking a weeks holiday, one of my two annual weeks, the other being in February. Both unpaid. So to all of you already on holiday....enjoy!

I just need to make it through to Thursday. After that I've got a whole four days off!

I hate people who get loads of time off at Christmas...I really need a job like that!

I get off from Christmas eve until 3 January and I don't even have to take a vacation day.

A HUGE blessing in disguise or you'd have to exit your pillow fort and proform a crumb extraction lol
