Do people usually assume that you're younger than you are?

people think I'm early 20's, all the time. Sometimes it's nice, but other times when people are being patronising and talking down to you like you were someone with less life experience then it's just annoying.

If somebody said I look younger than my age I would assume they were either visually impaired or looking to get laid!

People always think I am about 25. But I think thats more with the way I act, than the way I look.

Added to the fact that I am not married, nor have children, people are usually surprised when I tell them I'm 31, 32 in 2 weeks.

I(Him) was told when I was very young that I looked older than I was. when I hit my 20's,30's and early 40's I was always told I looked younger than I was.

Then all of a sudden my face caught up with my passport. I now look my age but I seemed to go from 41 to 48 in about 6 months.

No.

Depending how old your mental age teenager is, I could be in big trouble when it gets to court.

It can look patronising when older people remark on your youth. But the truth of the matter is that I personally view 30 year olds as very young and still on the brink of a very long life ahead. Not incapable, not lacking sexual prowess, not without business acumen or life experience or maturity, just very young looking still - with that boyish or laddish air about you that only instils feelings of having to protect and nurture, not seduce. Perhaps I have a strong maternal instinct towards the young but thats just my particular makeup and I feel comfortable with the role I have in life at my age.

It may annoy you but we oldies have the advantage of hindsight and can laugh at how they thought they knew it all and had done it all at your age too. Its not until you age and look back that you know when older thoughts and attitudes began to be recognised by others. Its a gradual process and you're still on your way there at 30. Celebrate where you are in life - we spend 2/3 of our lives in middle age and elderlyness and it creeps up faster than you think. That doesn't mean I think ageing is something to fear because remember too - life begins at 40!!!

Age can be defined by physical as well as mental attributes.

I may look my age, however, I don't often act my age, and am much younger at heart!
