I'm a bit of a contradiction - in vanilla life I'd say in every other respect I'm quite virtuous.

But I'd be a hypocrite and liar to say my very presence on here is not a vice. And I guess that this vice trumps all the virtuous stuff together so I'm sure I'll burn in hell.

Are we all contradictions on here?

I'm going to say neither I'm just me.

I've always had the same mindset all my life, I struggled when I was young thinking something was wrong with me but when I realised there was plenty of people out there the same as me I accepted myself.

My sexual choices don't impact on my life in any way I'm an average 50 year old grandma and I do normal every day things..

I don't think being sexually liberated is a vice the only vice I have is bloody smoking

I don't consider it a vice either and like my lifestyle however why does our current society treat it as such ???? Therefore it is considered virtuous if it is not a vice ....

Why is it not generally accepted as healthy and fulfilling being part of this lifestyle?

I'd rather it be out of the realms of the norm

That's what makes it a little more exciting for me,it's nice to have another life that you can keep to yourself

I like that it's seen a vice by some people

Virtuous because its honest, I am honest with myself and with my partner. We know we one hundred per cent honest and don't need to be dishonest. I think that is virtuous. I too live a normal life, I work in an industry which makes a difference and I give myself to the segue and betterment if others ... I think its important as I believe we were put on the earth to help and support each other.

because that is how society has been. But who is to say that in 50 years time or less that thoughts won't be completly different.

Maybe even 20 years, its not that long since homosexuality was illegal, the age of consent for men has come down, same sex marriages, more acceptance of transgender more acceptance of children being raised in same sex families. We still have a way to go but these things even in the last 15 years have become more the "norm"

Great thinking and encouraging ... I try to make a stand for the lifestyle .... My dad knows and my children also that this is my choice .....

I hope one day it is accepted as you state above xx

Interesting question.

We too don't hide that we swing but we don't shout about it either. To others our lifestyle isn't virtuous, but to us we are living the way we what to live so why should we think it's a vice.

But thinking about it swinging is the most virtuous part of our lifestyle. Lol

I see it as neither vice nor virtue as such.

Certainly not a vice as it is honest fun between consenting adults.

While swinging may not be particularly virtuous in itself we can all approach it in full honesty and aim to be virtuous in ourselves.

Like many others on here I neither hide nor publicise my lifestyle...if people know/guess/ask then I am honest (a virtue!) about my life.

My employers know from the outset as I feel it is better they know rather than they find out!

Well said and thank you for saying it was interesting question

I think this seems so full of contradiction yet there is no need for it to be.

I find people on FAB in some ways blatantly honest about who they are and that is very attractive, in that, they know themselves and there is virtue in that honesty .

Er? it is what is to each individual I guess? What's the definition of a vice? Something one does that they know they shouldn't?

Its not a vice for me either as I have no reason not to do what I do (not that I'm doing anything/one at the moment.

Well that's just it.... We are honest in ourselves choosing this lifestyle - there is no dressing up of why we are here. Honesty is virtuous ...

What was considered morally wrong years ago is now morally right..... So the act hasn't changed yet public persona has changed....

So as I said it's not vice for me yet is it virtuous ?

Having always been a bit of a libertine, I'd say I'm exercising my right to do whatever I want.

Mainstream norm would probably say vice, we're still so ruddy Victorian in our attitudes towards sex on this little island

Thank you for expressing your opinions and thoughts....

It appears - generally speaking that we don't see it as a vice (my thought) and the world mostly does.

I agree with being a libertine and I hope the future sees it also as a freedom.

Thank you

In the context of "swinging", promiscuous behaviour is regarded in most occidental societies as one lacking virtue. Vice is a self fulfilling affliction as opposed to an altruistic reaction to a cry for psychological and physical aid.
