Grantham

My gorgeous military friend is back next week and it got me thinking that they do so much hard work to protect the rest of us.

I know it's not all dangerous but they will be the first in line when it gets that way. Same goes for the Police & other emergency service people in hospitals etc.

And seeing as there are tons of military personnel and NHS staff on here I thought it might be nice to thank them and hope they have a good Christmas even though they are likely to be working

Most of the military finish on the 18th and arent back until January! Let's hope ISIS dont decide to invade over Christmas!

All joking aside, as you say, a lot of people who have to work over Christmas are doing it to help others in one way or another.

I personally have two great big tubs of chocolates in the back of the car to drop off to my local police station with a little card to thank them for working over Christmas when the majority of people will be eating and drinking and being merry with loved ones.

The land of grey peas and bacon

I work closely with the police in my role I have meetings with them daily and I provided Krispy cremes to the police station I work closely with the most and the inspector said no one has done this before and I just said well it's Christmas and it's a time for giving......I did fancy saying at the end but not anal though but I refrained

Pulls up sandbag...

Sets lightbulb swinging...

This one time, in Kandahar, on Christmas Day, with as many people as possible stood down to enjoy the day, we held a sweepstake as to what time the TB would launch their rocket attack in a vain attempt to spoil the day. They never did, thus spoiling the sweepstake. Bastards.

Chams or Socials

I'm a military brat from a big military & emergency services family. 9 yrs ago my brother was in Iraq. He came home. A family friend didn't (neither did any of his body parts). My eldest looking at signing up in 2 or 4 years. I am grateful every day for the work of our military & emergency services & hope they get to spend Christmas with their families x

But appreciate those that do these jobs
