Being an Aussie I tend to call fellows sweet or darling until their character gives me the nickname I want for them. One lovely fellow in FAB has nicked named me for two months now..... Scrumptious ..... I love it x

I hate to be called "blood" or "fam" especially by youth who are trying to get a fag or a "pound for my bus fare home" just fuck off you little shit, and pull your trousers up while your at it

If I don't know them well I don't like terms of endearment. Once someone is sufficient familiar I like sweetie, darling, or a specific nickname (usually elf related in my case). I hate babe and hun.

Being a Lancashire Lass 'Luv' doesn't bother me. At home it's 'Wench'. I'd rather be 'Your Ladyship'. Obviously.

I never thought this was a 'thing' until I signed up to Fab

I see it written on profiles 'don't you dare call me babe' like it's an insult & you will be struck down by the God of 'No sex in your life ever again' for daring you to think of a woman as a 'babe'.

I blame the film about that little pig personally!

In your bed

So long as they are respectful towards me then I really don't mind.

I don't find pet names patronising. If someone calls everyone love or chuck then that is just their way of talking.

However if they only use it for those they are trying to put down its a different matter.

So if you take a lovie type character saying dear and darling maybe their way of talking so calm down dear is what they would say to anyone who is over emotional.

If you normally say mate or guys, then saying calm down dear is outside their normal pattern of behaviour and it is patronising.
