"The Darkness... "Don't let the bells end". Ironically classic. " That was the only one I could think of, as it has that cheesily campy sound to it which makes it stick like a Christmas hit should, however, it was released 13 years ago now, and showcases the point of this thread so far, how musical inspiration is sorely lacking in so many of todays bands.

"I'm sure I've asked this before, but can anyone name any memorably Christmassy tunes that have been released this millennium, and may be played thirty + years from now, that are featured in the same kind of rotation as Slade, Wizzard, Kirsty McColl and the Pogues, Elton John etc...?" No. I was just thinking about this the other day actually. Modern music is generally pants anyway, nevermind modern Christmas tunes. A lot of current music seems to be more interested in regurgitating old songs and not writing good original new songs.

"Sadly, the Christmas number one spot has been dominated by X Factor pap for far too long. All instantly forgettable. " You beat me to it, X factor has destroyed Christmas songs. Be glad when that show gets the chop now.
