Me versus the Christmas Tree

So, once again I've bought a real Christmas tree for the space where it will reside for the next few weeks. A saw and an hour later and it was ready to decorate.

Now I'm wondering, how do you decorate yours? Do you decorate in the middle of the room and then manoeuvre to its destination? What do you start with first....lights, tinsel, baubles?

I've resorted to a Bacardi and Coke whilst I consider the options? lol

Personally I do Baubles,tinsel then lights and decorate wherever it's going to stay for the duration

I decorate in situ. Lights then baubles. No tinsel. Star at the top last.

Depends on the size of the tree as to where I do it.

Lights first, then beaded garlands (prefer to tinsel) then baubles.

Always lights first. I leave it sticking out a bit to get round the back then I put the decorations on it. I don't really have baubles, I have lots of little tiny mirrors and stars... silver stuff. I don't have a tree yet... maybe next weekend.

Can't decide whether the cat will just try to eat it or knock it over.

Always decorate in situ

Mines a pre lit brown bare tree style

Just with baubles. Coffee, cappuccino balls and home made cram Pom pons

Decorate in situ.

Lights, ornaments and then the tinsel, with Santa on the top.

Almost every ornament on the tree has a story to it. I try to get one per year. This years ornament is a wooden star made of Pupleheart, Bloodwood and Maple which I bought in Mallory Square.

Put it where it will reside for the days ahead. Then the lights, followed by the tinsel. Baubles always last to save me knocking them off with the lights or tinsel

dont have a real tree but always decorate it on its table and go around it

used to use fairy lights they lasted one year and swapped to a fibre optic tree instead

using tinsel and baubles and silver and colour strings

For the first time, I've moved furniture so that the tree is in the window instead of in the corner. So this is also the first year I've decorated the back of the tree!

I put it where it's going to be then decorate. I don't bother decorating the bit you can't see.

our first task is to get it out of the garden, its starting to get large it takes 2 of us to lift it,We bought it 4yrs ago and comes in each year; then back out for the rest of the year,

but it's tinsel - lights and baubles
