massively over hyped film anyway. was hugely underwhelmed when I saw it in the cinema. oh well..

I saw it on the box early this year & liked it. There are some unlikely scenarios but the monster was good. It's supposed to be from the perspective that no-one really knows what has happened, which you probably wouldn't in that situation. There's quite a lot of web discussion about where the thing is from but the director says it's a baby, a very big pissed-off baby probably awoken by the satellite which crashes into the ocean in the last (flashback) scene of the film.

I think the way the film was done was brilliant. You know lots is happening but you are only privvy to little bits.
