So Stop the War is part of the solution, but surely the real need is to find a peace? Simply turning your back on people's suffering and saying we shouldn't get involved is not enough.

It is so easy to criticise people doing things, but it would have so much more validity if it was attached to a suggestion of a way to solve the problem. Hiding and hoping that our lack of involvement will lead to no attacks on the UK and will lead to Syrians, Iraqi's, Kurds, Turkmen and Lebanese not being terrorised, maimed and killed is so incredibly naive.

Please come up with a solution, I don't care if I lose the argument, but in this case I would quite like to win the peace.

Brighton - even Hove!

Fighting an idea, as has been pointed out in the forums previously, is incredibly difficult.

My son in army and they want to be let off the lead.

However, this would not just be a armed conflict it would become a holy war.

We can't hide from the fight

( that allowed Germany to invade others before we said enough)

Lives will be lost, not all of them guilty but a line in the sand has been drawn.

Several million people are trying to escape the terror of Syria and Iraq, surely the answer is not to ignore them, but to go and help them. If 2 million people want to escape, surely 70,000 might be interested in staying to fight against Daesh. As with any bully, the only way to stop them is to face them down, you might get bruised, you might get hurt, but in the end the bully stops.

Just imagine the hell of actually living in Syria now.

mine is more about the war against puppetry...

a few days ago, sadly a man believed to be homeless died in glasgows city center. comments came in, that this was because of us sending aid to other countries, then refugees getting housing/benefits..then possibly a war veteran abandoned by the government..

all this from an unidentified dead man..

Top it off with extreme islamaphobia...coming from a very rich man, who has very rich friends in saudi arabia........people still imagine bin laden as some towel wearing desert cave man..but are too lazy to seek truths about our relationships with our rich tyrant friends/enemies. I bet I could go back and watch michael moores 9/11 and probably see more than I did back then..

I respect people who have the call to protect our country(I'm a product of army upbringing), but all I'm seeing at the moment is fear,intolerance,misinformation,lies,manipulation..oh..and finally...........greed!

I think the vast majority of people would rather stay at home, be with family, friends and neighbours - rather than risk the journey to Europe. It cannot be an easy decision, but one people must make when they're way of life is threatened to greatly. Again, fixing the problem in Syria and Iraq has to be the right location - the way we do it, as it seems we must as far too many people have died. & not Christian killings of Muslims, but Muslim killings of Muslims. We all have to sort this out and it needs Iran, Saudi, Russian, European and US and even Chinese engagement to make it work.

Can we rephrase that politicans greed, world wide banks greed, world wild companies greed ....

They all shake each others hands for money at the cost of the lowely people that make them the money ...

The people who get up and work to sustain the oil plants, fields that get ploughed, factories that process...

The list is endless..

Government greed is what creates war !!

Can we try to forget blaming people and actually remember that millions of people are actually affected by this. Today's society loves to blame, perhaps it needs to start wanting to solve problems. It is the easiest thing in the world to point out people's failings - the hardest thing in the world to actually try to fix things.

It is quite disappointing that a thread aimed at solving a problem, rather than complaining without a solution results in so few responses.

It seems so easy for people to tell everyone else we have done wrong in the past. At Christmas, perhaps we could look to solve the problems. Having travelled the world, the only thing that really amazes me is how similar we all are, not how different. Most people care about each other, it is only the idiots who don't get it.

Why is it so hard for people to want to solve problems, rather than bitch about issues? Life is tough, 2 million people need us to help them, saying Tony Blair is to blame is so incredibly juvenile. Maybe I've got it wrong and the answer is blaming someone else, but it doesn't feel right...

in this current climate, do you think therre is an easy answer?

take in refugees/asylum seekers?- we all know how thats going down.

do we occupy the region?

there are more questions than solutions I'm afraid..and quite a few are nothing to do with humanitarian aspects.

at present we are even turning on people that have been here for decades upon decades, living peacefully amongst us and contributing to our society..there might be divides on the cultural beliefs etc..but the fingers are out, elbows nudging and knees jerking.

Thew dramatic image of the drowned toddler was an eye opener for most of us..quite quickly forgotten that people are genuinely trying to escape horrors..on the other hand his parents might have been sleeper cell terrorists......my facebook started to fill up with britain first pics of a jet with the paris flag colours to go bomb isis...and comments like nuke them all...

It is patently clear that the vast, very vast majority of migrants just want to escape the terror at home. Our obligation as humans must be to help them achieve that. Islam is a great religion that truly appreciates the quality of people. Daesh and IS are only here to destroy Islam.

The best plan we've found is by a extremely intelligent gentleman called Jacques Fresco. His solution is called "The Venus Project "

There's a documentary called "Paradise or Oblivion "

Also there's an extremely well put together documentary by someone else called "JFK to 9/11 " it's a long one but an eye opener.

Time for us all to wake up and say enough is enough. If not for yourself, do it for the children.

Never has so many had so little and so few had so much.

One good deed a day, to help a fellow human. Its not much, but it's a start. Love and peace to all. Gina and Mistress L xxx
