How long can you expect to wait for an answer from a pension provider for this figure? Is 28 days enough time. Thanks

I'm not sure but I would phone them after two weeks myself.

They should be able to give you a figure over the phone, but obviously it does vary from day to day, couple of weeks should be more than enough to produce some paperwork with figures on it. That was certainly the case when i transferred my pension into a SIPP. hope that helps

Capita, who do our company pension quotes have a 21 working day SLA so 28 days sounds reasonable for you to start chasing.

Much depends on how your pension is invested. If it's just insured funds this figure should be available over the phone. (Depending on who your pension provider is)

If it's self invested eg a SIPP or a SSAS then the scheme administrator or provider may have to request valuations of the assets. That can take longer. Especially if it's got any more esoteric investments.

Always wise to call them
