"How curvy is curvy? I'm down as athletic but I guess there's a big difference between Mo Farah and Dwayne the rock Johnson. Where does someone with some curves become a bbw? I'm not getting at anyone or judging before we start, just wondering." As your a male, why would you care whether you should call yourself curvy or a bbw as this is used for women?

"I'm a fat git, so wrote my profile to match. Backfired when my first ever meet off this site imploded when we didn't recognise each other, as she was looking for someone very much larger. I've changed it since, still waiting for trading standards to knock on my door for offences under trade descriptions act. So, OP, you will see I am no use in answering your question whatsoever...." Pffft, every reply is a useful insight. xxx

"Curvy isn't a size it's a shape. But on here, the hierarchical size order of the options implies a size, which isn't really helpful. A size 8 can be a curvy shape or a size 18. In my view it's about having a small waist and an hourglass figure. So I've just gone fuck it, and went with fabulous. " I put average because of this. Curvy is a shape and when I lost weight my arse disappeared and so did the curvy description for me. I would so much rather be curvy than average!

"I put curvy, a meet I had told me that was misleading and should have put 'large' Outwardly, I laughed and walked off. Inside I was devestated. I hate this describing yourself, how I see me is not how others see me, and their opinion is different to the next persons, so what are we supposed to put?! Mrs " They needed their eyes testing! Looks like it was their loss from what I can see!

"To me when your curves turn into rolls your fat I see curvy as slim with shape If you have a over hang on your belly, crease's in your back and your nipples point to the floor that's going past curvy That's only my opinion of course " Shit. I am way past curvy then. And I've done so well to get there, I thought.

"Curvy has been hijacked by the overweight. Bardot and Monroe were very curvy but certainly not overweight - they went in and out in just the right places. Also isn't it rather immodest to describe yourself as a BBW - some big girls are certainly beautiful (and curvy in the real sense), but don't people feel uneasy when describing themselves as beautiful. Surely beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. I am not curvy in either sense of the word and I prefer people to decide whether they like my body by looking at my photographs rather than by some vague description - though I do admit I do prefer "slim" to the derogatory "skinny". " I hate the term bbw and never use it. I do find it a bit annoying though that there are so many threads about what is curvy and what is fat but none about what is skinny and what is slim. And being slim does not make someone automatically beautiful, just as being big does not make someone automatically beautiful.

""Hijacked"? Or perhaps there are people who do believe overweight can be curvy. Denise Bidot, Denise Mercedes, Ashley Graham, Sophie Dahl pre-weight loss. Women of whatever size with hourglass figures and the corresponding waist to hip ratios are what I consider curvy, not thin women with tits bolted on which is where I think the hijacking of the term sits. " I think it's possible to be curvy without having an hourglass figure...i describe myself as Curvy And have been described that way by others but i don't have an hourglass figure (god i wish!!) ....see the variations in interpretations? I'm not sure why some get hung up on this tbh. Not meaning you, Ruby, just in general.

But the word "hijacked" I was picking up on implies that all the others are wrong except theirs.

" And being slim does not make someone automatically beautiful, just as being big does not make someone automatically beautiful." Exactly. Big or small, fat or thin, curvy or straight, a face like a bag of spanners is a face like a bag of spanners. Thank goodness for personalities and inner beauty.

Because in the fab world it's seen as a size instead of a shape which appears to cause confusion. I think if someone is 'slim / skinny' it's fairly obvious what size they are ~ 'curvy / fabulous' is more open to interpretation. And I agree size has absolutely no bearing if a person is beautiful or not.
