Like many on here we have pics on our phone which we wouldn't want the wider world to see. The pics are hidden with an android safe app and protected with pin number.

But the pics are stored on the sd card.

So if the phone was lost or stolen and someone removed the sd card would they then have access to the photos ?

If the app is any good it should encrypt the files so they can't be accessed.

Best way to check is to remove the SD card and put it in a laptop.

Yeah they would have the pics, if they have the same phone (make) then it's likely they could view them on that phone. if not they could do it with any laptop or PC.

Depends on the app you use.

By yeah, easy enough to test out on a mate's phone.
