Shrewsbury

I couldn't wait to get out!!

Born and raised in London but moved to Shropshire 18months ago..

I still venture down south to see friends and family but aside from that I don't miss London one bit..

Hi there, yeah the station is at the top of my road.

I was home at the time and heard all the police cars go by.. then looking online read about it all.

Took the central line home this evening and found 6 police officers guarding the station.

Very strange so close to home.

Love to visit but could not live there like the open space too much. Plus not many places to keep the horses.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I adore London for 24-48 hour stretches, but its always a relief to come home after a visit.

Hi there,

I guess its like us all, the place we are born and raised in get a touch old or to much.

But moving out where you are now sounds beautiful.

Always welcome back home for a drink sir

Hi there,

So true about the horses, I rarely see any here.

How many to do keep?

Hi there,

I felt the very same and I guess its only right for me as I got a new job here. But the little place I am in is just fare enough out that when you step off the train it doesn't feel like london.

How are things up in York today?

London

There are times where I love it, times when I loathe it but good for you OP.

Currently in a 'I want to run away to the seaside' mood but being a creative, need to be here for work

I love when someone says nice things about London - so many knock it without knowing it.

I've been gone 15 years but its still home - and always will be

London

I grew up on an island and miss the sea like crazy ...finding London hard at the moment, rat race that its easy to get dragged into, working twelve hour days and everything so expensive ... we are looking to move out, once the kids are finished with their exams.

I love London. Would love to live there for a while, but my job doesn't pay well enough. Even with the London weighing I'd get if I transferred.

So I settle for visiting regular and talking to the weird and wonderful people I meet there.

I get a London weighting and its not worth it. As I am not from England, we are in the process of researching the best places to live ... where we can get more for our money
