Dreadful business. Anyone up there affected and how are you coping?

Hi. Drove down that way yesterday then over to Newcastle and was shocked at the amount of water that was in the fields and the rivers were flowing very fast. Jim

The £38m 2005/9 flood defences failed one months December rain in one day devastating to those affected.

I commuted to Cumbria this morning. Thankfully had no issues but not too far north.

My thoughts are definitely with everyone affected.

add to that the ground being already saturated after nearly two weeks continues rain and you will get this result large parts of the northwest and northeastern England are already at capacity on flood planes etc
