Edinburgh

The current governement has no more or less credibility than any other administration would have less than one year in.

I have to be honest, I am not a fan of this government, but they have been left with a huge pile of shit to sort out, if is possible for them to work as one, they just may sort some of it out, however it is at what cost to us, the public.

It is us that are now having to suffer for the spend, spend, spend attitude of the last labour government, and the cut, cut, cut of this one.

"They're doing the best they can under the current financial restraints"

"Oh no they're not, they just love to cut and don't care about the poor etc"

Repeat.

Ad Infinitum.

Conservative:

1. Favoring traditional views and values; tending to oppose change.

2. Traditional or restrained in style.

3. Moderate; cautious.

4. Tending to conserve; preserve.

Hardly surprising that cuts go hand in hand with conservatism, although I think it is more about cutting out wastage.

It can't be disputed that the last administration created non-existent jobs purely to get the unemployment figures down to bolster their version of their success. It was an illusion and they got found out, eventually.

*ahem*

How many of those would apply to the Thatcher Conservative Governenment?

If you're going to make a sweeping statement, make it a good one.

So why the sweeping statement dig then.

Thatcher's govt was as much against wasting money as this one is. That's why the non-productive money swallowing pits were closed.

..and she didn't take us into any illegal wars either. The Falklands were/are ours and it was right to retake them from an invading force.

Because you made a sweeping statement which was self evidently incorrect.

Which I pointed out.

Using the Thatcher administration as the example.

I win.

Ah, sorry, didn't realise we were in a contest.
