Currently studying and my recent assignments have me baffled. Maybe need to chill and put it down and start a fresh tomorrow. What techniques has people used while studying?

Take a break stay hydrated but plan when you will study and when you will. Set yourself small acheivable targets.

If tou just want a short break and to keep your concentration up try some brain games. Luminosity is a great site.

Or just read around your topic

I've some tough assignments due in shortly. Planning is definitely key, as is pacing yourself. I need to include thinking time, so don't often crack one out in a day or two. And it's healthier not to have to have time pressure, in order to be productive. That stress isn't healthy.

Research and plan, as well as have a schedule for your efforts. And make sure you're resting during your work days and possibly to have days off. Get together with fellow students as you may think of a new angle on something. And use your lecturers, they are eager to earn their pay.

I studied for my BA hons alongside a demanding full time job and family. Planning ahead is essential, break everything down. Regular breaks eat little on often. I was so hungry while studying so always kept snacks close.

If I hit a mental block i'd walk the dog to clear my head. Usually things click after a break and a think.

Keep going, honestly... Your graduation will be so special. I cried through mibe because the last year of study was hard, had dealt with two deaths of closr family, cervical cancer scare and demands of my job as well as my son leaving for his own uni journey.

It's tough but worth it and if I can do it anyone can

Lots of luck to you. Feel free to message me if you need too vent etc

When your assignments are asking you the legalities of wearing a green hat on a Sunday it is perfectly acceptable to punch anyone you see wearing a green hat!

when I couldn't find a route forward through an assignment, I would take a long walk or got to the gym. I'd be able to map out the work or be able to make the argument as my head was clear of paperwork. When I got home I'd then open a note pad, bullet all the necessary points and then I'd expand on them.

I'm studying part time alongside a full time job. Good to see some other crazy fools here too.

I find I can only study at an indecent hour. 11pm onwards is when I'm most productive.

Study tip wise I find I need total peace. Any distractions and I'm a great procrastinator. Good luck!

I used to study by sitting in my car during dinner hour with notes, not much time but always seemed to get lots done.

Planning is definitely helpful and make sure you note down where you get your quotes and ideas from! Nothing worse than trawling back through readings to find a citation!

I work best in 30 minute bursts and then a little break but you may be different. I like to have my headphones in as that blocks out distraction around me and there are some great 'music for study' albums on spotify - again helps to block out other noise around me but they are quiet and calm enough to not be a distraction themselves. My gaffer is doing an OU course and I type up his work, plus I read through a few people's assignments, as often a fresh pair of eyes will spot something that the author has missed.

What's your assignment on?
