"the funniest thing is there is 'outrage' over something like that.

Why is it funny?"

someone picked the wrong clip, probably human error and there is outrage.

people get outraged for the smallest things. If the person concerned is upset, fair play but others on his behalf for the effect.

Ah, but if you read the article the double irony was they were discussing Lenny Henry's work promoting diversity in entertainment AND THEN cut to Harriott.

The only outrage expressed was in The Mirror's headline

It's a gaffe, but a monumental one. Opening ITV up to the accusation that they feel "all black people look the same".

It's likely the junior researcher didn't have much knowledge of either man, googled Lenny Henry and mistook a clip of Ainsley. Not necessarily racism but they failed to do their job.

London

In the panto I'm in, someone on Twatter said one guy looks like Usher and that I look like Adele

He's black, I'm fat. That's where similarities end.

We're small fry and laugh it off but on national news, it's lazy journalism and stupidity on a Louis Walsh level.

its just a mistake ....we all make them at work...if he was a baker and had burnt the bread he would have put it in the bin and cooked a fresh batch of bread and no one would be any the wiser

Best 'mistaken' identity ever...

Dexys Midnight Runners on TOTP singing Jackie Wilson said to a back drop of darts player Jocky Wilson . Although Kevin Rowland was behind the joke

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Ainsley Harriott has done standup?

That's certainly shocking, although I suspect he's funnier than Lenny Henry...
