Yes running will help for the cardio, remember its all about portion control and calorie restriction to get a flat stomach.

Normally building muscle will require a calorie excess so you'll gain a bit of fat.

But main thing is weights get in the free weights section (gym staff will be more than happy to show you the ropes) don't ever worry about getting "too big cause it won't happen :p"

Oats and protein make a good shake for adding decent calories and protein for repair after a session (fine ground oats can be had for as little as 5kg for a tenner)

Bodypump/combat (any of the less mills classes tbh) are fantastic for general toning up/doing the muscles you'd usually ignore and good for cardio and motivation.

Given you're a woman stay miles away from stwroids/any of the "natural testosterone/booster" crap, due to the side effects (you'll grow facial hair lol)
