"CLCC - I am not a fan of Cameron but I would say that normally he is far from stupid. I am assuming that the real target is replacing Asad....but of course we have no legal mandate for that....." And who are we to decide that Assad needs to go? Replacing Gaddafi worked out well in the end didn't it?

"Just listened to Corbyn's loony lefty speech in the commons on the Syria air strikes debate that is currently ongoing. His position that air strikes in Syria will make the uk more of a target for ISIS is complete nonsense. We are ALREADY a target, there have been 7 foiled plots this year in the UK by Islamic extremists to attack us. We are already bombing ISIS in Iraq, we are already at war with them and they want to attack us whether we conduct airstrikes in Syria or not. There is a UN resolution to attack ISIS and Our allies the french and the USA, (among others) have asked for the UK's help, we need to show solidarity with them." IS said the Paris attacks were because of French bombing in Syria. If you don't see that there is a direct link between bombing in Syria and a potential increase in terrorism it's because you don't want to see it. IS confirmed what their reason was, ignore it if you like.

That won't increase the chance of an attack here. That won't radicalise more people against us. Yeah, it'll all be hunky dory.

" we've been bombing them in Iraq using jets for 14 months or so and using drones with hellfire missiles to engage them in both Iraq and Syria.. wonder if that has anything to do with the thankfully foiled plots stopped thus far..?

Maybe we're seeing mission creep. Mass boots on the ground may not be far off.

"So many experts here on the security of our country and the rest of the world. it's amazing how many qualified people there are that have a solution. So much behind the scenes that never gets into the media, it's called confidential material, so we have to try and trust that someone is making the right decision for us in an attempt to stay safe in this country. Nothing will ever be ideal, it's life!!! Unfortunately people have different ideas about what peace is. 99.9 % of people would not last 5 mins ( and I do mean 5 mins ) as PM for the Britain. Their job is a thankless task no matter which party is in government. Just be thankful that we are reasonably civilised in this country and on the whole enjoy our freedom. " and within that freedom is the ability to have an opinion on an issue and to respect other's opinions when they express said opinions..

"I question pretty much everything in the media now a days. I don't read newspapers either. Bias and sensitisation is what sells. It frightens me that one Facebook post becomes mass hysteria ![]() ![]() Well I listened to a lot of the debate live, and it came straight of his mouth (the refusing to take back to comments part) so its not media bias, or mass hysteria, or chinese whispers.

"14 years of fucking it up and helping to create more terrorists - tell you what let's keep making the same mistakes and then we feel better in your arm chairs or down the pub - volunteer for the front line and you may have my respect in your delusion. " Have you served then???
