New year traditions

Has anyone else got any New Years traditions, I like to have a nice single malt, and a cigar at midnight, while watching jools Hollands hootnany.

This year even better, since I have a great view of the city from my living room window, lights, fireworks, an eighteen year old pressed against my lips , and something thick and smooth in my hand lol

For the last 20 years we've spent it with friends, but as all of the group's kids have grown up and want to do their own thing now, we will be doing something different this year.

New Year / Hogmanay lost its sparkle for us when my wee grannie died on 2 Jan 2007. We used to make such an effort but it's not the same without her x

Now I have the boys so it'll probably be a quiet one at home x

Three years ago my dad had a heartattack on 23rd of December and was in a coma all over Christmas and died new years day.

So since then instead of maulding new years day my mum and stepdad take me out some where proper child goes out with the parents for the day. Makes me feel about ten

My sister will be over this year so her and her husband will come with us as well.

New years eve I spend on my own as quiet as possible. I really have no inclination to go out.

New Years day is normally spent with a trip to the beach and a dip in the ocean...try it, you'll find the beach is packed with people all doing the same thing

Stay in with good food and a film. I really dislike New Years Eve with so much pressure to have fun but it's way more difficult to have a good night out than it would be on a normal night. And always go to the beach on New Years Day

I'm always up on my own on New Year's Eve, so it's normally a bit shit. Not a time of year I particularly enjoy when everyone else seems to be with someone.

We didn't celebrate New Years for many years as my father in law past away just after midnight....but a few years back we went away for a couple days to Worcester did the whole dinner n dance thing was lovely

Last years New Year was shitter than a really shit thing. Invited friends over. My husband was in bed by 9.30 and the friends had a row and were asleep before midnight too. Sat there on my sofa on my own all dressed up.

I'm normally sat alone, tipsy and analysing all the mistakes of the past year and wondering what the hell I'm gonna fuck up the following year.

I really don't enjoy new year, I just see it as a reminder that another one has gone.

God I sound miserable!
