I would pay to do this!

I've only been home alone for one Christmas cause my folks were in NZ for ten weeks. I had the best time with my M&S Christmas dinner.

I wish I was this year, spending it with the ex in laws is not my idea of fun, I'd rather be at the beach eating a picnic!

I'll maybe be alone for a few hours Christmas day.

Christmas eve is more important to me anyway, I adore Wigilia...

I would be devastated if I wasn't with my children Christmas day. I don't like it when my youngest daughter goes to her in laws for dinner, even though they come to us straight after.

On the whole I will be, but there's a few of us singletons in this block, so I'm sure visitations will be made. If not, I'll have a litre of JD and a chocolate orange to keep me company and there's always someone posting on here anyway

My mother said that last year. So I proposed that she came to me instead of me driving hundreds of miles to her for a change.

She couldn't be bothered, so obviously she wasn't *that* devastated.

I would walk if I had to. Although Christmas is exhausting and very hard work I love having my children and grandchildren around me. We usually have a family get together Boxing day too. My rest day is in between Christmas and new year, which is usually spent watching DVDs and playing games with the grandchildren I live with.

See, I usually go to Church in the morning and spend some time either on my own or with a friend in the afternoon. It's a really nice time to reflect on the world. I like going for walks too when it's peaceful and quiet without much traffic.

Probably my parents fault for sending me to Catholic school.

The option of some alone time on Xmas day is NEVER available to me.

Well it could be if I was willing to put up with two sets of sulking parents and the sulking ex in-laws, and the sulking would last until next Xmas.

I detest the family politics of Xmas

That's why I packed in family Christmases. They can sulk in a place away from me. They're welcome to it.

Sounds lovely to me and I didn't go to a Catholic school I'd like to go to a Carol Concert in a church on Christmas eve but I'm always looking after children or cooking. Part of me would love a Christmas day to myself but I'd miss my family too much. If they went away for Christmas though, that would be a different matter.

My eldest has just had twins so she will be busy, this is my middle daughters first Christmas in her new home with her partner and my youngest and her boyfriend usually spend Christmas in a food kitchen and visiting the sick in hospital and the lonely.

I love Christmas, my other half hates it. Awful Christmas last year not going to repeat it so will probably go off on my own and leave Scrooge to it.
