I find going to work and having a routine helps.

Get yourself on a sleep hygene programme didn't work for me but it does for plenty.

I manage around three straight hours some nights which is a great improvement for me.

Routine. Go to bed at the same time every night. Get up at the same time in the morning, even if you haven't slept well, get up anyway. If you sleep all day it stands to reason you won't need to sleep at a reasonable bed time. Put your electronic devices away and try reading a book. Lack of sleep sucks but your body clock sounds like it's out of any sort of routine. That would be my first try.

Marc used to have this problem. I, on the other hand, never did. My best advice to him, and I think it has, worked, is to really tire yourself out, and don't go to bed until you are ready to sleep. Keep tv's, phones, and kindles away from your bedroom.

Then have a good night's sleep

-Courtney

Stay awake one whole day go to bed about 9pm wake up at whatever time you want to be your regular morning and have a big breakfast.

Works bets if you can avoid eating for at least 16 hours before the breakfast too

Chams or Socials

Force a new routine.

Walk in fresh air followed by bath & bed.

Turn off electricals including phone - keep off here!!

Play relaxing music.

Set an alarm for 8am at latest.

It'll take time but your body will adjust.

Get into a routine of regular sleep. So eat at dinner time, no later than 7 then at 7 or 8 put your pj's on slippers and all, draw the curtains, and relax with the tv, newspaper, internet, puzzles whatever. By 10:30 go to bed and put on soft lighting. Read for an hour then turn the lights off. There is always exercise you can throw in there. Physical exercise if built up slowly can last for a couple of hours. This again will tire you out. Again, keep to time, read and lights out. and wake again at a regular time.

Back to basics.

Proper routine & stick with it as others have mentioned, don't allow yourself to sleep during the day otherwise you'll never sleep at night.

Do you exercise? I used to find swimming a great relaxant and yoga / Pilates.

Good luck x

Stay up late, but not stupid o'clock. Plug you phone in to charge downstairs. Have a warm milky drink. Put some background music on. Have a lady wank.

Sleep. x

Habits need to be created and repeated, until they sink in and become automatic. Decode the ideal 7 day sleep and awakening time for you and then start moving yourself on to that pattern,

Aim for some mental and physical tiredness each day if possible.

Avoid alcohol as it usually degrades sleep quality.

Give yourself a week or so to create a new routine. A bit earlier or later, here or there, and then repeat it, day in/out.

Add something good into the opened up time that's now free too.

I like staying up late when I'm off work I'm usually up until the small hours then sleep until noon or early afternoon. Going back to work always forces me to get back into normal sleep patterns though.

Either hardcore it by staying awake until the next day at a decent bedtime or find a friend with an ample supply of Temazepam and neck a load with with a side of whiskey.

Sleep pattern you say? Hmmmmm, what's one of them? Since I've been off work with psoriatic arthritis, the meds I'm on mean that I can sometimes be awake for 40 hrs, have 10 hrs kip then be awake again for another 40 hrs, although some of this is in a zombiefied state

Don't use your phone in bed.

Sleep with one foot outside the duvet.

Get a better pillow.

Have a wank
