Its a tough one , but on todays performance and his last couple of matches Andy Murray would have to be up there

I think the title of the award needs changing.....

I don't know them as personalities....

But I reckon Andy Murray is a decent sort, so he gets my vote...

After last night fury get my vote

he's not to everyone taste but I think he's achieved the most in comparison and what he did was a massive upset against the odds

Joe Root, outstanding year and plays sport with a smile on his face and in a way which inspires.

Lewis Hamilton, simply by virtue of defending his title

not too fussed about the winner as long as Usain Bolt gets recognition. what an ambassador. A true legend of an athlete and such a nice guy.

it would be nice if a posthumous award went to Jonah Lomu. the gentle giant who changed Rugby Union.

Doubt if Andy Murray will get the individual but Davis Cup squad will get the team award.

Doubt if Mo will get it. Alleged drug use by his trainer will probably tar him.

Lewis is a good bet as he equals Jackie Stewart record but I accept winning it last year might mean not.

It should be Nigel Owens the RWC ref. He is everything a sports person should be.

Really? That's an odd one.

Well done to him for breaking the premiership record for scoring in consecutive games but that's it!

He's not a world champion, he hasn't won anything, he's only played once (I think) for England so I can;t imagine why he'd be anywhere near that list.

Five years ago in non league to breaking the record for consecutive premier league games. He doesn't play for big top 5 teams.

He won the World championship in 5000m and 10000m to become the first Briton to hold the Olympic, European and World titles in both 5000m and 10000m.
