I've only ever purchased on eBay. What's the crack on selling things on it?? I'm clueless

I've also never bid on anything, until today. Does the person who is selling on it bid on it if someone makes a bid??

Some sellers use 'other ebay accounts' to bump their own prices but it's usually obvious from the bidders list if it's just one other account bumping the price. I set a limit and stick to it.

I don't sell on ebay, it holds no appeal and often the item is cheaper in a supermarket/argos

You have to pay to sell as well don't you? As I said I have no idea

Go with your instinct. They item will stay in your lists and often when it's the seller trying to bump the price it will be re listed almost instantly but the other account gets positive feedback instantly too

Yes the fees for selling seem to change with the wind though

Paul sells a lot. These days eBay are pretty clued up on "other" accounts and you don't tend to get people bumping them up.

Have your top price your willing to pay and stick to it. PayPal protects buyers more than sellers.

It costs to sell but Paul sells when it's free listings and they occasionally do savings on final selling price too

Not sure what it is now but it used to be 10% of your selling fee. Plus a small fee to actually list the advert on EBay in the first place

Depends on the product. eBay list the fees on the site.

I've sold loads on ebay, it's usually free to list with a certain amount of photos, but you get charged if you have a reserve or want it to start at a specific time. I just sell right away with a low starting bid and no reserve.

You pay ebay fees once the items sell and it's around 10% of the winning bid, oh, and paypal take a slice if you want paying via them

They'll get money out of you one way or another or it's not worth the hassle.

I tend to sell stuff on FB selling sites now as its free, no messing around posting stuff etc.

Iv tried some of those, think I will have to drop the price! People want something for nothing these days

Prefer to put stuff on Gumtree if I'm selling tbh as Ebay attracts too many time wasters who bid them don't pay for stuff and make bull shit excuses, report them and nothing happens

If im buying I just put my maximum I'm prepared to pay as my initial bid then don't look at it again, if I win it I win it if not then at least I'm not tempted to up my bid and spend more than I want to.
