When I meet women (not meet but interact) out and about such as in a supermarket or pub, I sometimes tell them that they are very attractive.

I have never had an adverse reaction but I am always nervous about saying anything in case I do get a negative response, and so often stay schtum.

How would/do ladies on here react if a stranger commented positively on their appearance?

I never get any compliments so I'm not quite sure what my reaction would be. Soz no help I know.

I'd be flatte_ed but my normal response is humour.

Something like "Have you forgotten your glasses today?"

Need to say first what your compliments might be.

Big difference between 'what a lovely smile' and 'great tits'

It's true. I guess it comes of being with an ex that liked to put me down at every opportunity. But thank you.

I can take compliments when I sense they're genuine. As long as he doesn't think I'm going to fall at his feet and show my gratitude I'll say thank you. I compliment men when something stands out as being complimentary.

I once complimented a total stranger at London Bridge station.

She was beautiful, but quirky and I complimented her on her 'fabulous shoes'

A very pleasant coffee & chat happened, but nothing further...

Shame...

I take your point.

Usually calling the lady gorgeous or sexy. They can choose to ignore it or respond.

And I do say that quite often it's not the pretty women with a good figure that I find the most attractive, sometimes the ladies who are a bit plain or larger physically just ooze sexuality to me!

If a random man gave me a compliment I'd think he was taking the piss. I'm terrible at accepting compliments.

I love compliments, so if anyone approaches me with them i say thanks. I get a lot about my tattoos and my rainbow hair or overall look, mostly from women.

Been chatted up in shops by guys and it doesn't bother me and had some nice chats while walking round doing my shopping but it's usually guys i don't fancy so nothing comes of it.

I used to freak and be sarcastic too but now I'd just grin and say thanks

It very rarely happens to me (in good at being invisible), but if it does I just smile and say thank you. Unless it's something inappropriate like 'nice arse', then I just ignore it.

Sometimes U.K

I always say thank you as I think it takes a lot for some guys to give compliments like that.

I can't remember the last time I got a genuine compliment, not counting Fab ones. I was wearing a shirt at a party that received one. The woman liked it so much she unbuttoned it and nearly had it off my back just to see the label. But that was the shirt not me

I must have a great butt, because every time I finish talking to someone and start to walk away. I hear them whisper "What an ass!!"
